The blue agave (Agave tequilana Weber var. azul) is used in Mexico mainly in the production of tequila. It is a perennial succulent plant belonging to the Agavaceae family native to the xerophytic regions of Mexico. It is grown in the region known as the Tequila Denomination of Origin (DOT), which includes the states of Jalisco, Michoacán, Tamaulipas, Nayarit and Guanajuato.
El agave azul (Agave tequilana Weber var. azul) se utiliza en México principalmente en la producción del tequila. Es una planta suculenta perenne perteneciente a la familia Agavácea nativa de las regiones xerófilas de México. Se cultiva en la región conocida como Denominación de Origen del Tequila (DOT), que comprende a los estados de Jalisco, Michoacán, Tamaulipas, Nayarit y Guanajuato.
