Bamboo Rafting is traditional transportation in a village. In Java named “Gethek”. Gethek as a mode of transportation in the river is one that still survive and needed by the residents of Hamlet Mirisewu, Ngentakrejo, Kulonprogo and residents Mangir Hamlet, Pajangan, Bantul, Yogyakarta.
The existence of ‘gethek’ for crossing the river as wide as 120 meters is very important because it can cut the land route as far as 15 kilometers by turning on the main route.
Gethek also alternate with bamboo bridge.When the rainy season the residents use gethek (bamboo raft) as a means of crossing. While the drought residents around to establish a bamboo bridge.
