“Very excited to hear that my image was selected as a winner!”

“I spent the day filming a couple friends of mine who were trying to put up a first ascent on some epic offwidth climbing routes in the desert. We hiked for miles looking for the perfect line, and then spotting this amazing crack that was about 400 feet off the ground. Using the drone, I was able to capture images that would have never been possible before!”

“This picture was taken in the Chugach Mountain Range outside of Cordova Alaska. Its subject is my friend and guide Jason Bilek Opening up some turns on a giant mountain face we called Buzzy’s. Its about 45-50 degrees and a very fun run. We had been placed on top of the run by a helicopter run by Points North Heli Adventures a premiere Heli ski operation from Cordova. Third prize winner talks about drones

When did your passion for the drones begin?
I started flying about 3 years ago and soon realised that I would be able to combine my 2 passions, snowboarding and flying and potentially continue my career doing them both. The support of my family and friends to chase my dreams has been amazing.

What areas of the world would you like to explore with your drone in the future?
There are so many places around the globe that would be amazing to shoot from the air. One of my big dreams would be to take the drones down to Antarctica and capture some of the magic that exists down there before the ice melts away, and climate change, changes everything forever.
