Copacabana is an upscale neighborhood located in the south of the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It is considered one of the most famous and prestigious neighborhoods in Brazil and one of the best known in the world. Is the Princess of the Sea nickname and Heart of the South Zone. It borders with also noble neighborhoods of Lagoa, Ipanema, Botafogo, Leme and Humaita. [4] In terms of population, is the most populous district of the South Zone of Rio’s capital, with over 140 000 inhabitants in 2010 [2], of which about 1/3 (about 43 000 [5] in 2010) is composed of elderly aged over sixty years of age [5] [ 6].
