The Spiral Jetty is an earthwork sculpture built by Robert Smithson in April 1970 on the north shores of the Great Salt Lake in Utah. It is formed mostly from the basalt rock that can be found nearby. In the 2017 Utah State Legislative session, it was voted that it become an official state work of art. It is a beautiful work that makes for some great video and photography.
