One of the more recognizable landmarks along Spain’s famed Costa Blanca coast is the Torre del Barranc d’Aigües. The lonely watchtower is situated about 18 km (around 10 mi.) south of Villajoyosa in Alicante, the southernmost of the three provinces which constitute the semi-autonomous Valencian Community region. It’s perched upon a hill, about 140 meters (around 450 ft.) above the Mediterranean beach below.
