Photo taken on the southbank of the Rhine, view on Arnhem. The famous “Bridge too far” (Arnhem Bridge), nowadays called the John Frost Bridge, is visible on the right. The Arnhem Bridge was captured by the British paratroopers during operation Market Garden in september 1944. Surrounded by SS-troups, they managed to hold the bridge for four days.
