Courtillières Park is the work of architect Émile Aillaud. This large housing complex which surrounds a 4ha park and which meanders over approximately 1km in length has 655 dwellings. Its construction began in 1956 in response to Abbé Pierre's appeal of February 1, 1954, which alerted the government of the time to the emergency measures to be taken to stem the housing crisis.
