HISTORY
Firstly, called Vila do Divino Espírito Santo of the Towers of Rio Bonito, coming today to be called Caiapônia. A city marked by the abundance of streams and streams, which over time were important both for the establishment of Caiapós groups and for the settlement of farmers. The Caiapós Indians were the first inhabitants of the lands, giving rise to the name Caiapônia, that means “land of Caiapós”.
