Niterói’s most important site impresses all by its architectural forms, and it’s a building created to be admired on its own. With panoramic views of Guanabara Bay, the Museum of Contemporary Art was opened in 1996. It houses
collector João Sattamini’s collection, made up of over 1200 works of, plus nearly 400 pieces donated by artists who had exhibits at the museum. On the second floor, the glass balcony reveals a beautiful view of Corcovado and Sugar Loaf Mountain. The museum also has an auditorium, a library with 40 thousand documents on modern and contemporary art and a bistro.
