There's something magical and mysterious about rivers. Twisting, turning and slicing across the land, they take on a life of their own meandering wildly across thousands of years. Clean rivers and waterways are the lifeblood for heathy communities.

Cutting across ten states, two countries and collecting drainage from half a million square miles of watershed, the Missouri River is a vast and powering source for 2,341 miles. Throughout its journey to the Mississippi, it collects up major rivers known as the Yellowstone, Platte, Kansas and Osage.

This short film is the focus of the Missouri and Kansas Rivers just west of Kansas City. In the mornings and evenings, silence and color abounds.

Filmed with a DJI Phantom 4, edited and color graded with Sony Vegas. The majority of this film was shot in fully autonomous, hands-off mode while other portions with full piloting controls. Flown with DJI Go and Litchi apps. Portions of the film have been sped up to compress the time over the vast distances covered. Flown within visual flight ranges, max altitude 375ft AGL. Music by Dario Lupo, "Machines" courtesy of the Music Bed.
