Opened in 1921, the 118-hectare main cemetery is the largest green area in Dortmund and one of the largest cemeteries in Germany.
On the cemetery grounds there is a war grave with over 3,000 graves.
In the crematorium, between 7,000 and 8,000 cremations are carried out every year.
