At the edge of the forest south of the Frau Holle pond stands a wooden statue Frau Holle, which was created by Viktor Donhauser and set up of 2004. Because the forecast is older than the fairy tale Frau Holle of the Brothers Grimm, has been with this statue a young woman depicted as the fairy-tale character Frau Holle is usually described in the legends. In her hand she holds a pillow, which establishes the reference to the pillow or bedding ausschüttelnden Frau Holle. To this statue there were disputes, because it has too much bosom for some people; even the women’s representative of the Werra-Meissner circle had to deal with it.
Another wooden statue is located at the edge of the forest east of the Frau Holle pond. This statue was “carved” from lumberjacks Ferdinand Urff in 2001 with a power saw before Viktor Donhauser could place his statue. Some people say that this is Snow White.
Mother Hulda is a German fairy tale collected by the Brothers Grimm and first published in 1812 as part of Children’s and Household Tales. It was originally known as Frau Holle.
This large wooden sculpture is situated at near the summit of the Hoher Meißner, Werra-Meißner-Kreis, Hesse, Germany at an elevation of 623m.
