The fort built on 1892 is a living reminder of the day March 31 of 1864, when the people from Mazatlan defended the port against the french frigate Cordeliére, they won with more heart than shrapnel bearing only a single piece of long range artillery against the more of 50 cannons the Cordeliére had.
