Muvattupuzha

Muvattupuzha is a municipality in the eastern side of Ernakulam district in the Indian state of Kerala. It lies about 43 km from district capital Ernakulam. The town is bordered by Kottayam district on southern side and Idukki district on eastern side approximately 20 km from the town. Muvattupuzha is the 2nd biggest commercial center of the district and lies on the intersection between M C Road (Main Central Road/SH-01)and National Highway 49(Kochi-Dhanushkodi), the popular Kochi-Munnar tourist route. Pre-Independence days, Muvattupuzha was known as the second biggest town east of Aluva in the Northern Travancore region.
