Newcastle Harbor is one of the worlds most unique places to surf. The waves only break a few times a year, when the swell is too large for the rest of the beaches to be rideable. Inside the break wall on the harbor side, the swell hits a man made bank of concrete blocks left over from the break wall construction. It also features the occasional piece of iron, logs and other fun things that come into play when the tide is low.
