The Salton Sea is one of my favorite places to fly drones. In the 1960’s it was more popular than Yosemite in terms of visitor numbers, but evaporation gradually increased the salinity until all the game fish other than tilapia were gone, and the waters that had been previously used for swimming and water skiing were now stagnant. But, when the wind, the clouds and the sun cooperate, a drone can still see beauty in the Salton Sea.
