Using a drone to visually inspect windmills is the new budget friendly way to do inspections in 2015.
The smaller drones can get very close to the windmills and focus on areas choosen by the client with no need to access and climb the windmills. The smaller drones makes this a one-man operation, bringing the cost further down. Footage can be provided in 4K or HD (1080p) along with photos.
