The Coastal Range of British Colombia hosts some of the most popular resort skiing in North America at both Whistler and Backcomb mountains; but in-between the resorts lies 35 kilometers of glaciated terrain and jagged peaks called the Spearhead traverse. The record for the traverse is set at a blistering pace of three and a half hours. Last spring we took a more leisurely pace, camping over the course of three days and enjoying every bit of the warm weather ski-mountaineering.
