Hey Everyone! Thank you for the amazing comments on the drone footage. You all had a ton of questions on the building so I wrote the history of it here — http://bit.ly/2ToW8tp
Enjoy!
Thanks.
No A/C… except for the fairly obvious air conditioning heat exchangers scattered around the exterior, presumably hooked up to the original, 1889 electrical wiring. Um, yeah.
This building has been part of my life's seascape for half-a-century. I would lie down in front of the bulldozers to see it saved. The video is very beautiful, and very much appreciated. Gratitude.
This is a holy place that the Sisters use to offer spiritual retreats. It is heartbreaking to lose such a historic and beautiful site but the sisters of St. Joseph can not afford the cost of renovations necessary to make the building ADA approved for one thing. What is needed is a wealthy benefactor, someone like Ellen DeGeneres, to save St. Mary's!
Thanks for this great drone video! Hopefully the Sisters of St. Joseph will come to their senses and save this building for future generations, it would make an excellent museum and cultural center administered by MAC. Destruction of this building would be nothing more than cultural vandalism.
I haven't seen this place in over 40 years. Not surprised it's time has come. Thank you for the beautiful footage!
What a beautiful structure and the location is awesome. Would love to know the history of the building. We lose too many beautiful places like this every year.
A gazillion dollars to bring her back to her former glory, but it’s still heartbreaking 💔
It kind of looks like the Grand Floridian resort at Disney World. Great drone video as always.
Great video! It's great that you got footage of the building for when it's gone. Such a nice area and the last shot was perfect. The building is very cool looking and so close to the beach.
