The island of Stromboli sits just north of the eastern coast of Sicily. It was the first active volcano in Europe we climbed and flew around. Throughout the day, you hear the rumbling of the volcanic process and see the sulfuric clouds emanating from within. It is a welcoming, spectacular place. The little island you see in the beginning is Strombolicchio, just off the coast. The last minute of the video shows some of the eruptions we captured from the top and at sea.
