Wai’opae Fishpond – Island of Lana’i – Hawaii
This aerial perspective reveals the massive ancient Hawaiian Fishpond at Wai'opae in the shallow reef waters off the island of Lana'i. Restoration crews, from Pulama Lana'i, are hard at work to try and bring this remote and beautiful place back to a functioning fishpond. If you look closely, you can see a team of restoration workers walking along the pond's edge on the left side of the semi-circle... close to the beach.
