Medellín is the second largest city of Colombia with a population of about 2.4 million. The city was known in the 80ths as the most dangerous city in the world, due to a war of drug cartels. Nowadays Medellín is the city which appears to be the most western European city of Colombia. Tourists love this city, which seems in comparison to Bogotá more modern and calmer. Nickname of Medellín is “City of Eternal Spring” because of the mild weather. The city offers lots of parks, markets, monuments and modern libraries. Medellín is until today the only city of Colombia which has a Metro system, which is connected with modern cable cars in order to link the whole city.
