As mid-October settles in across central Minnesota, cool temperatures form early morning dense fog along the warmer Minnesota River. Air temperature when this film was shot was 33 deg F. A few hundred yards from this location, visibility was down to zero and this film almost did not happen as I contemplated turning back.
As the sun broke the horizon, the fog repositioned along the river setting up for some amazing imagery. Largely flown with a mix of autonomous hands-off flight through a series of pre-programmed waypoints, and freehand with full piloting controls.
Filmed with a DJI Phantom 2+ and edited with Sony Vegas. The 3 axis gimbal does wonders to producing ultra smooth shots, although on this morning the wind was calm. Shot at 1080p, 30p. Music by Tony Anderson, \”Dwell\”, courtesy of the Music Bed.
