Vance Creek Bridge sits abandoned in a corner of the Olympic Peninsula. Spanning 422ft across and looming 347ft above the creek below, it's the second tallest railway bridge ever built in the United States.
No handrails, no maintenance or upkeep, no safety nets, no easy passage for the faint of heart. The railroad ties span anywhere from four inches to well over a foot apart. Sections of the bridge have even been burnt by vandals only increasing the danger of crossing the expanse.
